Are you wondering when you should get BodyTite® done? Our Chicago-based Whole Beauty® Institute team knows that patients are sometimes unsure about which type of treatment will be best to help them achieve their body contouring goals.
BodyTite® is a minimally invasive body contouring procedure that uses radiofrequency energy to tighten and contour the skin. It is a popular option for people who want to improve the appearance of their bodies and achieve a more balanced or shapelier silhouette without the scars that result from surgery that removes excess skin. But the question many people have is: When is BodyTite® right for body contouring?
BodyTite® is a good option for people with a mild amount of loose, saggy skin on the abdomen, arms, thighs, and other areas of the body. This problem can occur as a result of weight loss, aging, or other factors. Prior to the introduction of BodyTite®, the only good option to tighten skin was surgical removal.

BodyTite® is often combined with liposuction so that the surgeon can remove excess fat in specific zones of the body and achieve tightening of the overlying skin. Liposuction by itself is best performed in people with excellent skin tone. BodyTite® allows a greater range of patients to experience the benefits of liposuction. Liposuction with BodyTite® allows for fat removal and improved skin tone without the lengthily scars from traditional body contour surgery.
BodyTite® is also a good option for people who are in good overall health and who want to improve the appearance of their bodies without undergoing general anesthesia. It is minimally invasive and usually can be performed as an outpatient local anesthesia procedure, making it a convenient option for many men and women.
However, BodyTite® is not a good option for people who are significantly overweight or obese. For these patients, weight loss and exercise are typically recommended as the best way to improve the appearance of the body—and, more importantly, overall health. Additionally, BodyTite® is not recommended for people who have significant excess skin that would require surgical removal. For these patients, a traditional body lift or tummy tuck may be a better option.
It’s important to note that BodyTite® is not designed to replace a healthy diet and exercise regimen. It is also important to have realistic expectations about the results of BodyTite®, since the procedure will not necessarily produce dramatic changes. It’s an option for people who are looking to achieve a more toned and sculpted appearance by reducing small to moderate fat deposits and improving skin tone.
