1. What results can I expect from a Hydrafacial at the Whole Beauty® Institute?
Even after one treatment, you will notice skin that is smoother, better toned, and less dull. Patients who come in for regular monthly treatments often see improvements in pigment, fine lines, and pore structure.
2. How often can I receive treatments?
For best results, our patients come in on a monthly basis. Unlike some medical aesthetics treatments which can be a little uncomfortable, Hydrafacial is actually a pleasant experience and provides a relaxing break from your monthly routine. Of course, you will still see benefits if you come in less frequently than once a month.
For patients who have severely clogged pores and oily skin, we offer a rapid rescue package of three weekly treatments followed by monthly maintenance. We can also do this for patients who want to help severely damaged and dehydrated skin.
3. What is the downtime after a treatment?
One of the best things about this treatment is that there is no downtime. You can go right back to what you were doing right before the Hydrafacial. The only difference is that your skin will look and feel great!
4. What areas can be treated?
All areas of the body can be treated! The most popular zones are the face, neck, and décolletage.
5. How long does the treatment take?
Since our team customizes your treatment, you can expect the experience to last about an hour.
6. What does the treatment feel like?
You will feel a cool sensation and be aware of gentle pressure during parts of the Hydrafacial. Most of our patients feel that the treatment is pleasant and relaxing.
7. I have sensitive skin. Can I still have a Hydrafacial?
The short answer is “yes,” but you need to have the treatment performed by a highly-skilled aesthetician. This is not a “cookbook” procedure, where the same steps are done on every person. Our skill aesthetics team members have many years of experience working with Dr. Cook and have the skill necessary to optimize the treatment for each person.
8. Can Hydrafacial reduce acne?
Yes! It is a great way to unclog the pores, which is part of acne treatment. We offer a detoxifying Hydrafacial that combines the benefit of cleansing the pores with blue LED light to kill bacteria.
9. Do I need to stop retinol?
Yes we recommend that you discontinue retinol and related products 3 days before your Hydrafacial. You should also avoid any glycolic or other home-based peel for the same amount of time. If you are using these products please speak with our staff for specific guidance several days before your Hydrafacial.
10. Does it matter where I get a Hydrafacial?
Just as with peels, laser treatments, IPL, and other medical grade skin treatments, a Hydrafacial machine does not automatically produce a good result. The person doing your treatment is as important as the technology, if not more so. At the Whole Beauty® Institute, we offer our patients a highly-skilled aesthetics team that is guided by Dr. John Q. Cook, one of the most respected plastic surgeons in the Chicago area.
The HydrafacialMD treatment is specifically designed to be administered only in facilities that are under a physician’s supervision. If you find it in any other setting, you may be putting yourself at risk.
