Meet Alison Karmin, PA-C
Physician Assistant, Aesthetic Injector,
GPL-1 Weight Loss Specialist
Alison will share her skills and expertise in injectables, non-surgical rejuvenation treatments, as well as prescribe GPL-1 for weight loss. As an experienced Physician Assistant, Alison is dedicated to superior patient care and adheres to Dr. Cook’s commitment to naturalism in Medical Aesthetics.
What are your areas of expertise in Medical Aesthetics?
Neuromodulators, such as BOTOX® or Dysport®, is one of my areas of expertise in Medical Aesthetics. Quite a lot of my patients start there. Together we address the fine lines, and wrinkles and people get great results. It helps with skin texture. It helps with anti-aging. And I just think it makes people feel better about themselves to look in the mirror and see a reversal in age.
Once I’ve built a rapport with a patient over time, together we’ll evaluate what the long-term goals are and develop an all-encompassing treatment plan to address the additional concerns. These typically include things like volume loss, skin quality and texture which we can treat with injectables, lasers and other non-surgical treatments.
How do you help patients to achieve their desired results?
Individualized care is important to me. I really want to hear the patient’s concerns. With careful listening I can evaluate each patient’s needs and we can work together to merge the goals into treatment plans that achieve optimal results. Whether it’s Medical Aesthetics, injectables, or weight loss I really want to be a partner in a patient’s success.
How does your medical background as a Surgical Physicial Assistant contribute to your skills in aesthetics?
During my rotation in surgery I really enjoyed the hands-on technical component and the continuity of care with patients from pre-op to post-op, and then follow up. Fostering close-knit communication with the surgical team and the patient for a comfortable experience from start to finish is and always has been a passion of mine.
I’m always researching, training, and self-educating to provide patients with the best possible care with the latest techniques and innovations. The greatest gratification in my work is to see patients enjoy their results. —Alison Karmin, PA-C
